German Air Force Association (IDLw e.V.)

The name (title) of the association is Interessengemeinschaft Deutsche Luftwaffe e.V. (IDLw e.V.). The purpose of the association is to promote general and vocational education, including assistance for students. The association provides a forum and panel to all those interested in receiving information and exchanging views and opinions on current international and national military aerospace issues; related aerospace policies of the leading industrial nations of the world; capabilities of the German and international aerospace industry and their main fields of action and projects; the state of affairs and development challenges in the field of technology for aerospace and defence industry structures. It also provides the opportunity to participate in a broad debate on topics about state and society, military, politics, economy, research and development. This includes a common understanding of the necessity of adequate and state-of-the-art equipment for the German Air Force as a precondition for effective and efficient mission accomplishment. Another integral part is the cultivation of Bundeswehr and Air Force traditions, based upon the current legal provisions.

The purpose of this Constitution will be accomplished by carrying out scientific events and research projects, particularly by:

• promoting understanding and support of the Bundeswehr’s tasks and functions, particularly ofthe German Air Force in the public environment;

• promoting understanding about interde pendencies between the Bundeswehr’s mission and tasks, with the emphasis on the German Air Force; high technology and performance of the defence industry regarding sustained maintenance of performance and  improvement of the capability profile of Armed Forces, in particular of Air Forces and their operational readiness;

• deepening understanding on issues regarding military law and military economics in the field of Air Force technology and the necessity of state-of-the-art and efficient equipment tailored to the Air Force’s tasks;

• promoting understanding about the necessity of multinational, mainly European and transatlantic cooperation, during international missions forcrisis prevention and conflict management;

• promoting non-economic exchange of information and opinions with national and international communities of interests which pursue comparable goals

Following activities will serve to implement all goals and tasks:

• information events such as conferences, symposia and/or lecture series, etc., hosted by IDLw e.V. and open to the public;

• participating in national and international military aerospace events;

• exchanging information with national and international organisations and associa tions that pursue identical or similar objectives.
